How we help
Nightingale Nurses are specialist nurses who provide support and guidance from the point of diagnosis with dementia.
Our unique service is available to anyone living with dementia, their families and carers. We aim to provide practical advice and emotional support on a one-to-one basis to enable people living with dementia and their families to live well. Using a person centred approach we can develop strategies which help improve and maintain a good quality of life for all the family.
Nightingale Nurses are here for you. Some ways in which we can help are by:
- Reducing distress and confusion by providing specialist nursing advice and emotional support from diagnosis to post bereavement for the person living with dementia and their families.
- Offering a continuity of care service which provides assistance and support at any point such as when challenges arise or decisions need to be made
- Providing a comprehensive and holistic nursing assessment which will identify current issues and anticipate changing needs. Nightingale Nurses will also recommend or refer to other service providers as required.
- Offering advice and help to complete an Advance Care Directive and ensure future planning has been taken care of enabling the person with dementia to plan for the future.
